2013 really is shaping up to be the year of the ARPG. With a veritable truckload of ARPGs already out this year, and MMOs everywhere blurring the lines that separate them from traditional hack-and-slashes, it’s quickly becoming a crowded market. That’s all good though, as competition is a great thing to have, and the wealth of options means that everyone is likely to find something that fits. Enter The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, a game that is rather upfront about its approach.
As you can see, the kingdom of Opulencia certainly has a nice bit of charm going on, which is usually a great way to convince people to give it a spin, which is rather good consider it’s going to be entirely free to play. The game’s being developed by Ubisoft and is currently in alpha, with no defined release date in sight just yet, but you can still register for alpha access on their website, or keep an eye on their Twitter and Facebook pages as they occasionally give away keys there. It’s certainly looking like a fun little romp, and the ability to challenge your friends to defeat the deadly dungeon you’ve set up for them is always welcome.
