About Us
LT3 was created by Dave Spanton, Steve McNamara, and Xander Dent. The founders decided that they wanted to create a community that focused on being inclusive and welcoming instead of focusing more on trolling, rage and cynicism as the “Angry Gamer” persona was a large trend at the time.
LT3 started as a simple concept; “Spread the <3” wanting to create a content platform that was able to build around the concept of positivity, as well as creating a community that could feel like home, no matter what gaming genre was your preferred or what background you came from, you’d be able to find someone that shares your passion. In an industry filled with passion by developers, cosplayers, artists, gamers and everyone else involved, we wanted to give it somewhere it could thrive and be encouraged rather than mocking someone for liking something different.
Since 2015 LT3 has solely been ran and handled by Dave Spanton as time makes people walk different paths, and while the previous team no longer exists, the idea and concept at LT3 still remain the same. Happiness isn’t Zero Sum. This concept has been more profound and more needed as time as progressed from the initial starting point.
In 2015 LT3 went on hiatus due to Dave having health issues that prevented work. These persisted through til 2024. During that time activity died down but the community kept going and the ethos and idea never went away. With the rise of negativity in the gaming world, the ideas and commitment to trying to be a positive influence and spreading good vibes under the right message feels more important then ever. Especially in a space where gaming media is shrinking and ragebait is one of the core focuses used to get views. Dave believes that LT3 can succeed and survive on the idea that positivity and accessibility are core to allowing more people in to the gaming space, and helping them find games to fall in love with.
Over the years we’ve covered pre-releases, press events, previews, live expos such as Gamescom, EGX and Rezzed, as well as creating Youtube reviews, written articles, opinion pieces and streaming on Twitch. We’ve received fan art, baby pictures, and messages from community members all around the globe. LT3 content has been seen by over a million people. So whether you’re into FPS, RPG, Casual games, Farmville or even Japanese dating sims, you may just find someone that shares your <3.
I hope you enjoy what I’m trying to do here, and thank you for checking LT3 out.
